The One to One Project is a registered UK Charity: No. 299052

Thank you for our

Lottery funding

Staff, Trustees, Volunteers and Clients at the One to One Project are over the moon! The Project has been awarded Big Lottery Reaching Communities Funding, covering approximately 70% of running costs for the next 5 years, that’s £330,000 in total!

This grant has been vital in enabling the Project to continue to deliver its invaluable services, having been in threat of closure following the termination of NHS Norfolk Funding and more recently Norfolk County Council Funding. In spite of terrific support from volunteers and clients, the Project would have been forced to close its doors after 28 years of mental health service provision, had the Big Lottery not responded so positively.

The One to One Project provides free long term Counselling, Mentoring and Group Work services to a vast number of clients with complex mental health needs, giving an enormous 2036 hours of free support last year alone.

With 24 highly skilled volunteer counsellors and mentors, these services have continued at our premises in North Lynn, as well as our three outreach venues in Terrington St. Clement, Downham Market and Swaffham. Delivering services in rural areas has meant that those clients who are isolated can access the support they would otherwise have been denied.

The Big Lottery Grant means that we can further develop plans to offer outreach support at RAF Marham’s new Sandringham Centre, as well as coastal venues. We have also opened services to self referrals, with assessment appointments being offered within 7-10 days.

Fundraising must still go on to cover the 30% shortfall. In the long term, the project would like to provide some paid-for services to help it become self-sustaining, but the main focus will always be in the supporting of people with mental ill health, together with the Parents and Carers of those with mental health needs.

For further information about what we do and how to refer, as well as how you can donate or volunteer with the project, please contact Hannah on 01553 770770 or email onetooneproject@aol.com.
