A musical night to remember…

September 14, 2017

Guests were treated to a hugely entertaining and diverse array of musical styles on Friday 8th September, during the One to One Project’s Musical Evening, kindly hosted by Lord and Lady Romney.

Members of the King’s Lynn Gilbert & Sullivan Society exercised their considerable vocal talents with operatic and musical theatre excerpts, from Mozart to Les Mis, showing what a fabulous and accomplished company of singers we have in West Norfolk. They were accompanied on keyboard throughout the evening by Simon Bower, our Mayor’s Consort, showing his wonderful versatility (and stamina!) as a pianist.

The France family also displayed their musical prowess with moving song and flute solos, and a beautiful violin duo from mother and daughter. The Barn has a lovely acoustic and hopefully will be seeing more musical soirees in its new role as party venue! We thank Lord and Lady Romney for their generosity in organising and hosting such a successful fundraising event, which raised a staggering £3,023.00. We extend enormous thanks also to the Mayor of King’s Lynn and West Norfolk, Councillor Carol Bower and the Deputy Mayor, Councillor James Moriarty, and the wonderful musicians for making the night one to remember!
